Message from the President
Pay It Forward Scouting (PitFS) February 2026 PitFS was formally created at the end of 2025, and we are now a fully formed, recognized 501(c)(3) organization. We built Pay It Forward Scouting specifically to strengthen Scouting by helping youth who need financial assistance participate fully —covering essentials such as uniforms, camp fees, equipment, registration, and other program costs. Our goal is to fund Scouting requests with upwards of 99% of donations going directly to Scouts and Scouters in need, with only minimal administrative expenses.
PitFS is intended to augment the support Scouting America provides —not replace it. We are focus ed on reaching donors and funding sources that Scouting America may not otherwise receive, and we are not asking donors to redirect gifts they would have otherwise given to Scouting America. Now that the organization is established, our attention is turning to fundraising and building a strong, consistent process to evaluate requests and distribute grants responsibly.
January 2026 has been dedicated to completing our website and finalizing gov ernance and operating procedures. Once we achieve our initial funding targets, we will begin accepting grant requests. Most importantly, this mission is about people —kids who want to belong, learn, and grow.
Please help us ensure that no Scout is left behind because of financial hardship. We need our youth to have the opportunity to live their lives according to the princi ples set out in the Scout Oath and Scout Law —to build character, leadership, service, and a lifelong commitment to doing what’s right. Your support helps open the door to those experiences and keeps the promise of Scouting within reach for every Scout.
